A Lancashire based edtech company, created by the founder of Promethean Tony Cann CBE and funded by the Bowland Charitable Trust has announced that it intends to support primary schools from Blackpool and the surrounding areas including the Fylde Coast, as part of a random controlled trial. The classroom app ‘Learning by Questions’ (LbQ) has just undergone a year-long £1 million Feedback Project run across the UK. Every teacher who took part in the project* stated that LbQ had saved them time and 9 out of 10 teachers said that it had helped their pupils to achieve greater academic progress. Project Manager and former Blackpool teacher Pat May explains: “We have developed a revolutionary educational tool right here in the North West and we have two Opportunity ‘Areas’ on our doorstep. We can make a difference right here at home. We’re calling for primary schools from the Blackpool and surrounding areas to take part in a random control trial for 18 weeks to see what impact we can make. Every school who takes part in the trial will be given £5,000 worth of classroom tech, books and training.” Following on from the fantastic meeting on Monday 12th November at St Mary's college in Blackpool, we have already signed up 14 schools for the project. For more information and to sign up for the project please email Pat at [p.may@lbq.org](mailto:p.may@lbq.org/) Schools that have signed up so far are Anchorsholme Academy, Boundary Primary, Christ the King Catholic Academy, Devonshire Primary Academy, Blackpool Gateway Academy, Hawes Side Academy, Heyhouses Endowed Church of England Primary School, Layton Primary School, Roseacre Primary Academy, St Kentigern's Catholic Primary, St John Vianney Catholic Primary School, St. Nicholas' Church of England Primary School, St Teresa's Catholic Primary and Westminster Primary Academy and Children's Centre Blackpool. The trial will be conducted by an independent research team from Liverpool John Moores University. *Based on 85 teachers completing an exit survey ![alt text](/filestore/BlogImage/b59831fe-0ab7-496e-90e3-b5f4a9649208/4123f2de-1a08-45c1-8cb4-ef7cd95a15d1NickToyne-DevonshirePrimaryAcademyQuote1.png "Nick Toyne Quote")
