Together, we’re aiming to raise the attainment of children from low income homes across the Northern Powerhouse. ##As part of the project, 50 schools in the North East will have two teachers equipped with: * A classroom set of 32 x 7” Android Tablet Computer for pupils with protective cover. * 1 x 10” Android Tablet Computer for the teacher with protective cover. * Lockable charging and storage cabinet. * 3 years advanced replacement warranty so tablets are replaced in-event of failure. * 1 x 3-year LbQ teacher subscription with access to Question Sets across all years and all subjects. * 3 x Teacher LbQ Planning books worth £75 * Finance documentation fee (if you want to spread costs over 3 years) * Initial and ongoing training and support. * Delivery of equipment to school. * 3 years teacher software support. * At end of year 3 the school can return the equipment or replace with a new agreement. Independent randomised control trials in schools have found that the use of in-lesson feedback after each answer is submitted as well as the ability to re-try the question, can lead to **3-4 months extra progress over a school year.** Learning by Questions has over 50,000 curriculum-aligned questions that provide immediate and individualised feedback that deal directly with common misconceptions, as well as giving students the ability to ‘give it another go’. ### The project **June to August 2019:** Discussions with candidate schools in geographic clusters **By end July 2019:** Schools sign up to participate in the project **Mid Sep 2019 onward**: One day initial teacher training **Post training:** Teaching commences using the Question Sets **Ongoing:** Schools will be provided with top up training in twilight sessions ### Be part of something incredible We’re looking to recruit 50 primary and secondary schools in the North East to take part in the project. If your school has above average intake of free school meals, (13.7% primary - 12.4% secondary) you can apply to participate. We are particularly interested in secondary schools and their feeder primary schools to join the project so LbQ can help pupils and teachers improve transition from KS2 to KS3.
